Lisbon posters

I've seen various hand-made Lisbon posters around the place, but I think this pair, from near my house, take whatever biscuit might be going:

I was going to attempt some commentary, but ... really. The fanged cat! The misspellings! The wild claims! Could I stain the perfection of this piece with mere analysis? I could not.
The other half of the pair, to which this is strapped, is almost identical, but not quite - yes, these are individually handcrafted portions of political fantasy:

And as you can just about see in that second picture, these magnificent works are indeed penned on the back of some leftover election posters (belonging to one Ray McHugh of - tell me you're not surprised - Sinn Féin):

You couldn't make it up. Well. I couldn't. Whoever wrote these posters, though? They could.

Date: 2009-09-30 11:05 am (UTC)I can't wait for this to be over so I don't have to cycle to work past, eg, Libertas' wide-eyed Irish child grieving for Irish sovereignty, or the Coir one claiming we're going to be given back to the English, or the one announcing that we will have to pay "EU federal taxes", or any of the ones helpfully informing us that a "yes" vote will not bring about a socialist workers' paradise (and voting "no" will bring this about how, exactly?). Not to mention all the incredibly vague "er, Europe, lads, it's good, isn't it? G'wan!" YES side ones. It is not good for my blood pressure.
