radegundWe've just been without Internet for nearly a week, owing to some ridiculous snarl-up at our local exchange. This followed five glorious days during which we actually received the communications services we pay for, which in turn followed SIX WEEKS without a landline.
It's a long and infuriating story, but in summary, a fault at the exchange cocked up our line-share, and it took a while to bludgeon the four different companies involved into sorting it out. Everyone said it was someone else's fault. (We still don't know whose it actually was.) I had to get quite nasty before someone finally took responsibility for delivering the service for which they charge us money. I have to confess that part of me enjoys the wave of righteous articulateness that I'm sometimes able to summon in such circumstances. It's kind of like Cúchullain's warp spasm. If I were an arcade game character, it would be my special killer combo.
However, I am quite tired of this messing now. I hope it's over.
Starting the LJ catchup is an all-too-familiar feeling. I need to learn to skim more effectively. Could you all stop being so interesting, please? kthxbye
