First chortle of the morning: apparently you can get a Virtual Rosary for the Palm Pilot! You tap on one of the beads and an illustrated prayer appears. When you're finished you tap the "Amen" button.

Read all about it. Or go to the Virtual Rosary website. Or to the Palm review at Catholicmothers.com.

(Disclaimer: I've nothing against prayer. I just find the idea of tapping an "Amen" button screamingly funny.)

Something about this just gives me the giggles. Not the Amen button - beside the rest, that seems quite logical. The very idea of using a PalmOS device to remember your prayers for you is a bit...

Dunno. I was never really keen on the rosary anyway.

There's something so earnest about it - so lacking in any sense of irony. (The Catholicmothers page I linked to up there is plain scary.)

I try not to get all superior about Catholicism - it is the religion I rejected, after all, so it's liable to provoke my derision - but stuff like this makes it harder :-)

Hee, I find that strangely endearing. is it an Irish site? it's a terribly Irish-sounding venture...
