It occurs to me that, yes, too many of the world's powerful people are pursuing a lamentably irresponsible policy of appeasement in relation to the Iraqi crisis.

Blair, Aznar and Howard, to start with.

The whole point about appeasement is that it's all about mollifying the aggressor - in this case, not the undeniably odious and evil Saddam Hussein, but soi-disant President Bush.
