Lovely day
Sep. 30th, 2003 11:13 amStrange reluctance to leave my house this morning. Not sure what caused it - oh, wait a minute: it might have had something to do with the prospect of walking to work in the pissing rain.
I don't mind rain at all, in principle. It's good stuff. Plants like it, and that's good enough for me. I don't even mind walking in it, if I'm on my way to a hot shower and dry clothes. But when I have to walk to work and then sit for hours with damp feet, that's not so good.
Some days I have the presence of mind to walk in my runners and carry my work shoes, but not this morning - I was already dead late. I did take an umbrella, which mercifully didn't succumb to the usual ailments of these beasts (although it did at one point manage to get one of its spoke tips caught between a small pipe and the wall in Montague Street).
I need a raincoat. Or failing that, a teleworking arrangement.
