...but NaNoWriMo - predictably, I know - has swallowed whatever shreds of free time I had left. It's going really well, and I'm enjoying every minute, but it leaves me with no time (not to mention headspace) for such things as updating my journals. (The Other Place hasn't had an outing for ages.)

I very much doubt that normal service will be resumed before November is out, but I'll try to post here a couple of times a week, because I don't like just tumbling off the planet like that. It irritates me.

My week of half days was gorgeous, and I mourn its passing. Back to the standard schedule as of today; it remains to be seen what effect this will have on the word count. Work is busyish, but the Journal of Doom arrived back from the printers on Thursday (over a week before launch date - hoo-AH!), and the rest of the year's work is nowhere near as stressy (except in my perfectionist head, but let's not go there).

Meanwhile, I had a lovely birthday. Thank you heartily to all who sent me greetings, and apologies if I didn't respond. Part of the reason for my silence had to do with my birthday present from the inimitable [livejournal.com profile] niallm: a PowerMac G4 Cube - the attendant switchover took a while, which combined with the NaNo thing made for a rather patchy relationship with the Internet over the past week.

In short, all is good. Better than good, even. Writing wrocks.
