50053 words of more or less unadulterated drivel were emitted by me over the past month, and they have now been duly validated as my NaNoWriMo 2004 novel. Huzzah! Also w00t!
Just to make the point:
It all got done in (timed) fifteen-minute bursts. Turns out I can write upwards of 800 words in fifteen minutes, if I don't stop at all. This makes for a less than entirely coherent text, but hey, I'm cheating anyway in that I'm essentially using the exercise as an opportunity to explore ideas for a novel I'll write properly later.
On the downside, this means that I've written just a smidgen under 180,000 words without actually finishing a single novel. I'm going to return to the main one now (the one I've been drafting since 1999), to see if I can polish it off. Rarr!
