I think that in some past life [livejournal.com profile] niallm and I must have been burrowing creatures. We seem to have an inexorable1 need to arrange our possessions in teetering heaps all around us, with little winding pathways between them leading to the places where we want to go.

1Well. We're trying to exor it this year - wish us luck!

If you ever get a chance, go to Coober Pedy in Australia and visit the crazy old man's house (I forget his name). It's tunnelled out of rock over the years. It's brilliant.

Oooh, heaps!

Yeah.

Come and build us some bookcases. You're surely short of a project or two around now?

With the hollow laughing.

I'd love to do some bookcase-building, actually, but my hozzband is skeptical of my ability to close out the project in a timely fashion. (I CANNOT imagine why...) I may yet get to do it, though, because when we got a quote for the wallfull I ended up doing in 2006, it was well over 2000 quid, whereas the materials cost a few hundred.

I think we need bookcase-designing, here. We have another Temporary Solution in the making, this time with more flexibility, so we can work out what's going on.

We bought Linnea a clock for her bedroom today.

Ooh, clock! O is also very interested in learning to tell the time. Is there any thought of regulating what time in the morning she's allowed to come and jump on your heads, etc.?

(By the way, are my texts getting through? I proposed a phone call this evening, offspring permitting.)

Linnea CAN TELL the hour and the half hour, which surprised me. She's fuzzier on the inbetweens.

And I just got three texts now; my phone died late last night and was put to charge today. I did sit up online on IM for a bit but there you go.

It's FULLY CHARGED now so should be more reliable...
