How did you react when you were suddenly presented with a sibling?

As I remember it, I was delighted. I think I was reasonably well prepared. I wrote stories "for the baby" before she was born. We shared a bedroom, and I was very protective of her from the start. There was such an age difference that my position in the family remained pretty rock-solid (that aspect of things was much harder for her than for me!). We've always had a very good relationship - although she no longer thinks I have an answer to every question :-)

My brother was born when I was ten, and I more or less moved out of home when he was nine, so my relationship with him has never been so close. We're getting to know each other better now that he's going to college down the road from where I work.

I just can't imagine what it's like to have a sibling - it all seems very odd to me, lol.
