I'm still alive, when last I checked, but have managed to keep myself from updating here by the simple expedient of telling myself that I have to get up to date on my friends page before I'm allowed ... which, um, isn't going to happen. Or not for a while, at least. Also, it's a silly restriction, so I'm updating anyway, because it's been too long.

I'm basically well, although currently recovering from a small tummy bug (mind you, no bug is quite so small when you're pregnant, so it's been a mite unpleasant). [livejournal.com profile] niallm and I were on holidays with a bunch of friends in Kerry last week, which was glorious - perfect weather, great company, lots of games and gentle walks and good food and sitting with my feet up, reading and chatting.

And now I'm back at work (having taken yesterday off to nurse my tummy), for the final fourteen working days (eeeeeeeek!) before I go on leave. And it's going to be a bit of a marathon. Not sure how I'm going to fare. I was going hell for leather before the holiday - putting in really focused, productive days that left me totally drained by the time I got home (hence, among other things, my LJ lapse) - but I don't know to what extent I can regenerate the momentum for the final stretch.

In Pregnancy News, this is week 35, and the baby-in-waiting is getting pretty cramped in there. It went through a few weeks of somersaulting like a crazed teen Soviet athlete, but now it's apparently settled (head down - thankfully!) and just wiggles suggestively every so often, which causes some most intriguing sensations, not to mention dramatic alterations in the topography of my belly (I believe this is what [livejournal.com profile] ailbhe dubbed "Plate Tectonics"). Occasionally it kicks me in the ribs or punches me in the bladder. Or gets what I'm deducing must be hiccups, which is a really, really weird feeling.

I can't wait to meet it.

Right. Back to work, so.

so happy to see your post. of couse it'd completely understandable for you not to be able to keep up with friends journals so worries there please. sounds like a lovely trip to kerry, and hope all goes ok with the 14 final days of work before leave. happy to hear the baby is doing well.

If it feels like hiccups, it probably is. Pack a bag now as you may be too tired in two weeks' time if nesting doesn't kick in. I have another batch of baby stuff but it might be best waiting until arrival; let me know. Last Update Time is your friend.

25 days to go! Wheee!!!
