Not a real entry, this - just popping my head around the door, as it were.

As you've possibly been suspecting, Stuff Has Happened (many of you thought to check [livejournal.com profile] niallm's journal for news - thanks so much for your good wishes!). Our son was born at 16:45 on Sunday 22 August, after a comparatively easy labour. All three of us are very well, with Niall and I pleased to find that we have been joined by not just any old baby, but the most magnificent baby ever to venture down a birth canal.

I've got more to say, but it'll have to wait a bit.

Meanwhile, happy 30th birthday, [livejournal.com profile] niallm!!! (He remarked to me at three-ish this morning as we passed a fretful infant back and forth between us that he has well and truly said goodbye to his twenties...)

It's neat, the way every mother gets the best baby in the whole world ever. Whee!

I have to say, he does rather look like the Best Baby Ever, but I suspect he'll have competition in a few months' time.

Hugest congratulations to you and [livejournal.com profile] niallm, and welcome to the boy. I hope his life is wonderful, and that he continues to give you joy.

Hi. I doubt you have much time for LJ at the moment, but in the event that you are looking at it I wanted to introduce myself, as I have just 'friended' you -- I believe we have real-life friends in common ([livejournal.com profile] sacristan and [livejournal.com profile] natural20 not to mention a whole host of online ones. Plus, your BKTH journal was one of the first online ones I'd ever come across, and I used to enjoy it very much.

Eek, anyway, this all makes me sound like much more of a stalker than I'd intended -- just saying 'hello' (and, belatedly, congratulations!).

Sorry for the delay in replying - time is really racing these days! I've seen your comments around the place, and am delighted to be added to your friends list. Duly reciprocated :-) (I'm also dead flattered that you enjoyed BKTH. I still want to resurrect that some day...)

Reinstate it, definitely, I was totally hooked. And of course no apologies required, I'm delighted you've found the time to notice my comment at all :o)

How did he handle the big three-oh? My husband Ivan turned 30 exactly one month to the day before my little one was born, and he wasn't too happy about it!

Niall was actually fine with it. He didn't even complain about his birthday being completely overshadowed by the baby :-) Mind you, he did get a rather fabulous new digital camera from a bunch of his friends, so that would take the sting out of it somewhat! Also, I'll be 30 in November, so he has company...

And how do you think you'll cope with it? I personally can't WAIT to be 30. The twenties are so drab and unfashionable. :-)

Oh, I'm looking forward to it too. In fact, I've felt for a long time that my thirties will be a good decade. My twenties started badly and just got better and better, so if the trend continues the next ten years will rock :-)

My thoughts on the thirties precisely! Teens are awful, early twenties not much better, mid twenties not so bad... it's got to keep getting better, right? :-)
