Ten things I've done that I reckon you haven't...but prove me wrong! Go on!

1. Sung insane 20th-century Swedish choral music ... IN A CAVE.

2. Made an Irish crochet lace mat, to my own design, at the age of eleven. (I'm still sore about this apparently having been NICKED from my grandmother's house by some arsewit who was viewing it while it was for sale.)

3. Sung a song in Irish on the radio at the age of four.

4. Been translated into Hungarian.

5. Turned down full PhD funding.

6. Made an evening suit for a small toy frog (called Rhadamanthus, but if you're competing on this one I'll let you off the name).

7. Played Hamlet.

8. Written a slightly unhinged poem about the installation of ADSL.

9. Sung soprano, alto and tenor in the same concert.

10. Proposed marriage in five European capitals.

I haven't done any of these, but I have been close on #3 and #5 - I sang 'Molly Malone' on the radio in Kyrgyzstan (at the age of 20, admittedly), and I turned down full funding for a Masters.

Nope, I haven't done a single one of those. Closest I've come is making bat wings for a toy penguin.

4. Been translated into Hungarian.

I may be able to compete with you on this one: a lot of foreign IEEE chapters, especially student ones, take it on themselves to translate articles from Spectrum, but I'll need to see if I can find a web link: so far I've only got spanish and (I think) greek.

5. Turned down full PhD funding.

I ditched full PhD funding with a year left to run. Does that count?

Yeah, I think it probably does. Technically, I suppose I could be said to have ditched the funding with three years left to run (pulled out a few weeks before I was due to start ... um).

Actually, number 10 can be considered to have been done by at least one other person... :)

Well, as currently worded, it hinges on whether you were the proposer or the proposee...

'Fraid not - our proposing tended to be reciprocal and frequent. He's got me :-)

No, never done any of these. Although, as you know, I have on occasion interpreted my own thoughts (on such weighty matters as 'I would like a sour cherry pastry, please' and 'Where does the number seven bus stop?') into freestyle Hungarian.

Ah, Irish people (of which I am one, athough I no longer reside there!). Can I add you?
