Conversation in our kitchen this evening:

Radzer: (to her mother-in-law) Regard, if you will, these beautiful paintings, which I am affixing to the wall. Oisín did them when we were in Reading.
Oyster: Neh-Neh?
Radzer: Yes, that's right, we were visiting Ailbhe and Rob and Linnea in Reading.
Oyster: MY Neh-Neh! MY Neh-Neh!
Radzer: Oh, sweetheart, I'm afraid Nea's in Reading. We might see her at Christmas, if they come to stay. And you know what? They'll have a new baby.
Oyster: New beh-beh?
Radzer: Yes, they'll have a new baby.
Oyster: (thinks about this for a moment) Unny new beh-beh? Unny new beh-beh yeah!
Radzer, Niall and Niall's ma: ...

Consider yourself told. Though I wonder if he'd be as chuffed by the reality, given that it would not necessarily involve being All About Him.

One can't help suspecting that his initial reaction to the Real Thing might be less than enthusiastic. But for now, he seems to have the wisdom to take a long view of the merits of siblings...

Ah, yes. When elder sister was pregnant with F, E believed that we were all pregnant, including her father, and herself. Now that I am getting married, she wonders who she should marry, and has resolved to marry her parents. Our weekend visit prompted E to ask my sister why H2B's face was different, noting the considerable weight loss to which the face had been subjected since its last visit at Christmas.
