The lovely [livejournal.com profile] niallm has sorted out the glitch that was stopping me from uploading images to our server, and so, without further ado, I bring you two ACTUAL PICTURES of the ACTUAL OYSTER ... and one by him. If you're very good, I might post some more soon :-)

They're wide, for which I apologise, but if I decide I need to smallify them for this post, it'll never get done.

The Oyster and his Mama on a peculiar sort of pedalled roundabout they had in a playground in Belfast in April.

This is just to show you how beautiful he is, really. It was taken in Connemara, also in April.

(Well. I never claimed they were up-to-date pictures, did I?)

This was taken with a mobile phone, so apologies for the quality. Sometimes Oisín does a drawing, then looks at it and decides what it is. He did this one after we got home from Reading in May, where [livejournal.com profile] ailbhe and [livejournal.com profile] rrc's trike made a big impression on him. He drew it, looked at it, and said "trike". I can see what he means. Can you?

Oh my god. Yes, yes I can. At least, I see the two wheels, and the wedge-shape of the box and cover on top. Wow.

Wow.

Hee! He hasn't done the draw-shapes-then-identify thing for a while. But his shapes are getting more sophisticated.

a) Yes, I look at it all day every day, and I don't find it palls :-)

b) It was great! Three seats with pedals, and three with just footrests, alternating and evenly spaced. Took quite a bit of effort to keep it moving while leaning forward to hold the Oyster, mind you.

c) Thank you!

d) I was pretty gobsmacked when I saw it. I'm fairly sure it was an identification after the fact - but I wish there was a way to know!

Cute! And yes, I can definitely see a trike. He is truly an infant genius.

He is a bit cute, yes, I'll concede. His genius has always been evident to me; it's gratifying that the world (or at least my f-list) is in agreement :-)

Not only is it a trike...it's almost a three-dimensional trike!

It is a trike, isn't it? It's not just me ... or rather, me and Oisín...

My mother had one of five who produced art like that and she's dying to see a copy of this one. (My eldest sister Deirdre, The Artist, produced a 3-d chair at some ungodly young age).

NEARLY as charming as he is in person. But not quite. I am very cast down by the thought that he won't remember when I'm back next.

FEW PEOPLE are as charming as he is when he decides to be charming.

He might remember you "in theory", as it were. He asked me to draw you today.

He's got such an expressive face.

And I admit I saw a bike before I read his suggestion, but now I see the 3rd wheel.

What you can't see is that he's also got the shape of the passenger box! The trike doesn't have a crossbar, which one could see if one thought the pic was of a bike, but it does have an angley bit on the cover.

He is somewhat cute, yes.

(I am very, very bad at getting around to posting photos. Particularly given that [livejournal.com profile] niallm is utterly trigger-happy and there are literally thousands of the things on his hard drive...)

Oh, the CUTENESS! He is so, so adorable (and you're not bad yourself, missus). And I definitely see a trike in the picture - I actually saw a bike initially, before I read the enlightening description.

(also did you get my sadly belatened email?)

We were all about the red coats this spring. They don't quite match (and neither quite matches O's jaunty new red buggy), but what the hell.
