My friend-the-obstetrician, on meeting me after long time no see, described himself as "still at the [Hospital Name], beavering away".

Knowing him, my guess is that it wasn't deliberate.

Do you know, my last pregnancy, I had no vaginal exams at all. Not one. I had a couple of vulva exams because of the inflamed foyer, but nothing internal.

I am planning a homebirth next time, with luck, and not even a hint of a tint of a VE. Obstetrics and childbirth don't come together naturally in my heid.
